Integrated Freeway/Arterial Active Traffic Management (Funded by FDOT)

  • As a lead team member of this project, I developed a data intensive framework for deployment, calibration, and validation of a hybrid Dynamic Traffic Assignment (DTA) model for Orlando metropolitan area using multiresolution modelling framework in AIMSUN

  • The large subarea network counting 18350 links, 8942 nodes, and 2417 signalized intersections were calibrated and validated as mesoscopic DTA.

  • Analyzing integrated active traffic management strategies for the critical roadway in Orlando area

  • Developing various response plan and decision support system for emergency traffic situation

Evaluation of Managed Lane Facilities in a Connected Vehicle Environment (Funded by SaferSim)

  • Analyzing the safety performance of managed lanes and general-purpose lanes

  • Evaluating the optimal weaving lengths for the managed lane facility considering the safety benefits

  • Examining the impact of connected vehicle market penetration rates for managed-lane facility
